The Business Unit Cardiology Informatics (HQ Best, The Netherlands) is part of the Business Group Patient Care & Clinical Informatics (PCCI). The Business Unit develops, manufactures, markets, and supports Cardiology Information solutions for use in hospitals Worldwide. The Business Unit interfaces with the Global Sales & Service organizations to ensure customer satisfaction and realization of financial goals. The Business Unit works closely with several other Business Units within Philips Healthcare who are highly dependent on the Business Unit Cardiology Informatics for integration of the Cardiology Information system with their respective modalities. Most Important stakeholders in the product are the Business Unit Ultrasound, Interventional X-Ray. Business Unit Cardiology Informatics sells both through its own sales and service channels, as well through the sales and service channels of Business Unit US and Business Unit iXR.
The software Engineering department is part of the Business Unit Cardiology Informatics. The members of this department are responsible for the complete software development cycle, from feasibility, requirements, design to implementation and unit integration & test for our Cardiology program that comprises key products for managing medical images and reports (storage, viewing, analysis, reporting, distribution and archiving) in and between clinical departments in hospitals.
As a Software Designer, you are responsible for the complete development cycle from analysis, specifying and updating requirements, design, code building and testing and delivery of software to the customer.
Some other examples of tasks and responsibilities are:
• Coding of the defined software (units) and test software
o Ensures that coding takes place according appropriate coding standards and guidelines
o Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed software
• Writing Test Cases
o Improve effectivity, efficiency and coverage of software tests
• Testing of the defined software (units)
• Maintaining software by solving defects
• Performs all your activities in line with software engineering processes
• Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• A good knowledge of software development processes, best programming practices, multiple development languages, tools and techniques are essential in this position.
• Knowledge of Borland C, Windows platforms (XP, Windows Server 2003) using Microsoft technologies, C++, C#, MFC, COM, .NET, SQL, Wise Installation Studio (or similar product), VMWare.
• Experience in the Medical domain and/or knowledge of HL7 and DICOM, though not required, is a plus.
