Scope of the programs is typically across the value chain and across the various global sites and business units; improving performance by improving alignment across the value chain, including product development, supply chain, service and finance.

Your responsibilities

As a Strategic Buyer you are responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for the ongoing supply management of a commodity or group of commodities at the lowest total cost to meet the defined requirements of requestors within the Purchasing organization or across other Philips organizations. These responsibilities include:
• Supply Management Strategy and Process
• Commodity Strategy Development
• Supply Base Management
• Contract Negotiation
• Preferred Supply Base
• Capability Development

Your profile

To be successful in this job, your profile includes:
• Masters degree in business, engineering, supply or supply chain management.
• At least 5 years of experience in the Purchasing field and with a minimum of two years of commodity management experience.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across functions and organizations, especially with R&D.
• Proven ability to lead people and teams. Track record of developing strong teams & leaders in an indirect way. Furthermore, you have the following competencies:
• Ability to initiate and drive changes and innovation.
• Strong ability to think strategically and lead strategy development process
• Innovative thinker - able to quickly adapt to changing situations
• Good Negotiation skills.
Willingness to spend a significant amount (15-20%) of time traveling, including overseas.
